Google has updated the Google Earth app. Now with its help it will be possible to see panoramas of space even from a smartphone.
Users will be able to see images of the Milky Way during the rotation of the globe; they are captured by the European Southern Observatory. Stars can be seen as they appear at an altitude of about 50 thousand km above the Earth’s surface,
transmits Engadget.
According to the company, this change has come to a head after smartphones have become "just as powerful a tool as computers."
Previously, users enlarged the panorama of space on a tablet or phone, they saw an image without stars. The stars in this case were replaced with a black background, since the power of smartphones or tablets of most users was insufficient.
Now Google has updated its service and added the ability to view a detailed panorama on all devices. This function is needed in order for the program to display the Universe with the greatest possible realism. Therefore, they also added animated clouds that can show weather conditions around the world.
“Realism is important to us,” said software engineer Jonathan Cohen. “We want people using Google Earth to see our planet in conjunction with a place in the universe.”
