Bolon from Sweden presented a new line of original carpets and floor coverings. The collection was designed by Patricia Urquiola. As conceived by Patricia, all products are based on the Japanese technique, which is called Sashiko. Many centuries ago, peasants insulated their clothes with basting stitches.

For contrast, white thread was used on a dark colored fabric. In the process of improving technology, geometric patterns and contrasting color combinations appeared on the products. At the same time, laconicism and elegance remained the main features of the technique.

Patricia Urquiola has retained the basic sashiko features in her collection for Bolon. Monochrome patterns in a minimalist style make the floor carpets expressive and graceful at the same time. Due to the wear resistance and durability of the material, carpets are suitable not only for use in apartments and houses, but also for office premises.

“I wanted to create a collection with a delicate and balanced palette, pleasant to the touch, but very reliable to use. While working with the customer, we saw the similarities between the fabric structure of Bolon products and the Japanese sashiko weave. Then it was decided to modify the technology. We managed to create an aesthetic tactile coating with a structure that is difficult to damage, ”said the project designer.

The collection is available in four colors: green (Sage), beige (Nude), gray (Gray) and milky (Light). Carpets are produced in sizes from 2x2 m to 4x8 m.

On our site, a wide selection of carpets and floor coverings is presented in the section "Interior".
