Amazing design and functionality: Nucleo furniture

The original design solution was presented by Nucleo. New pieces of furniture are positioned as art objects that imitate fossils from antiquity.

For their manufacture, the masters of the studio use epoxy resin. All products are created exclusively by hand. Production technology - own development of Nucleo designers.

The most popular series of items called "Souvenirs from the last century." The peculiarity of the line is in the unusual elaboration of details. Wooden furniture is found inside blocks of golden and sparkling resin, similar to amber.

"Jade" - a collection based on organic material immersed in epoxy resin. Namely, an oak trunk from Italy, whose age exceeds more than 200 years. The appearance of the product resembles semi-precious stones (obsidian and jade). It does this by adding a colored pigment to the liquid polymer.

In every piece of furniture from Nucleo we see a play of contrasts: transparency and opacity. They are based on fiberglass elements that connect the structure into a single whole.

When a number of components interact, cracks appear on the resin, which form an unusual graphic pattern. Outwardly, it resembles the texture characteristic of rocks.

“Working with resin is a creative and challenging process. The main difficulty lies in the rapid solidification of the material. Therefore, each product is a kind of experiment, which sometimes leads to an unpredictable, exciting and incredible result,” said the head of the Nucleo studio Piergiorgio Robino.
