People have known for a very long time that parrots are endowed with impressive vocal abilities. They are able not only to communicate with each other, but also to copy the human voice. According to scientists, this property is due to their way of life. In the hollow of a tree, no one hears parrots, except for brothers.

But recently, scientists have found that parrots are characterized by babbling, like a child's. The researchers discovered this during a long field experiment conducted in Venezuela, where, since 1988, the behavior of more than 10 thousand parrots has been studied.

Scientists have built bird nests out of plastic tubes and fitted them with tiny video cameras capable of recording sound. After listening to the recordings received, biologists came to the conclusion that parrot chicks can not only babble, but also click, squeak and grumble. Interestingly, some bird sounds were made randomly, but others were made consciously.
