Connect Six is a project of Whiting Architects, which was designed based on the connection and consolidation of zones. The company has developed the modern transformation of a large family home in Melbourne, Australia.

Initially, the design was very large and the architects had the task of making it so that the owners could use it more efficiently. In their opinion, there is no difference between interior and architecture. An old Edwardian house with branched areas should be more organic and connected.

At the first stage, the studio specialists thought that there was no connection between the front and rear parts of the structure. They had to reconfigure the existing structure. This minimized the effect between old and new inserts and allowed new parts to coexist with old ones.

The task of the designers was to balance the separation and communication of zones. Despite the fact that the new elements are a little monotemic, they contrast with the traditional terracotta tiled roof and the red brick facade of the old structure.

Focusing on the needs of the whole family, architects created a space with different floor levels to delimit rooms without losing communication between them.
