In February 2019, Bell's new development, APT (Autonomous Pod Transport) 70, took off. But then the drone was controlled from the ground. Now a message has arrived about the first autonomous flight. It was held at the company's training ground near the city of Fort Worth, Texas, USA.
During field trials, the Bell APT 70 completed a number of planned maneuvers. Including, for some time he flew in the air like an airplane.
The Bell APT 70 drone is capable of carrying cargo weighing up to 31 kg, and flying at a speed of up to 160 km / h. However, it is not the most load-bearing drone of the developer. The company's specialists are now working on the drone APT 1000, whose carrying capacity should be 450 kg.
