Plants absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen - a truth known from biology classes. The Canadian blogger wanted to check whether a person and plants can create a closed system and provide each other with the necessary components of atmospheric air.

Kurtis Baute from Canada tried to live 3 days in a sealed chamber with hundreds of plants. He wanted to conduct this experiment to show how the environment “works” at a deeper level.

The blogger assembled an airtight construction made of plastic film, inside which he planted hundreds of cultivated plants. He decided to focus on corn, pumpkin, potatoes and sunflowers.

To conduct this test, the guy began to prepare for almost a year. Plant samples needed to take root and develop enough leaves for high-quality photosynthesis. Kurtis Baute believed that they could complement each other in terms of gas exchange.

But such a large-scale preparation, unfortunately, ended after only 15 hours of the guy's stay in the greenhouse. The reason is not only discomfort, but also a danger to life. Due to cloudy weather, the plants received almost no sunlight and therefore practically did not help the blogger to breathe.

“I could probably hold out for three days. But my goal is not just to survive. My goal is to finish the project without turning blue, without getting brain damage or heat stroke and without mutilating the body. ”
