Dark slate tiles, white marble and wood were used to reconstruct this Montreal 1960s building. The authors of the project thought that it would look so harmonious.

The development of the project was entrusted to the company company Appareil Architecture. Their task was the overhaul of a house located in the Outremont area, which was completed in the 1960s by Montreal architect Jean Owel.

Architects had to repair the house of the middle of the century and equip it with modern elements. At the same time, new items should take into account the modernist charm of the building. In particular, the linear form of the building, materials made of wood and stone.

A key element of the decor is a palette consisting of gray, white and black shades. This technique was to revitalize the interior in a single manner. In addition, throughout the project, attention was paid to the existing building: it was necessary to emphasize the originality of its character and find harmony between the old and the new.

Architects changed the location of the building, removed the partitions on the ground floor, designed a panoramic window in the dining room. Wood furniture is complemented by dark slate floor tiles and bright white walls.
