This former rocket base, which was built more than 60 years ago for a single-use launch vehicle, can now be rented for leisure for only $ 133 per night. But before that, Subterra Castle went through a major transformation.

Subterra Castle is a luxury home that was built more than 60 years ago with a specific purpose: to become a storage location for the Atlas E disposable booster rocket. It is located near Escridge, Kansas, USA.

The former underground base covers an area of about 13 hectares of land, and is located 247 kilometers from the Kansas city of Topeka. The authors of the project decided to make a room out of it in a bohemian eclectic style.

Spouses Ed and Dianna Peden own this base, who not only conduct excursions here, but also rent separate rooms for rest. They have been living on the territory of this “unique place with history” since 1994.

The guests of the former vault are not only interested in the fact that missile launchers were stored here during the Cold War. They want to watch and listen to the story of the transformation of the base into a house. Also, vacationers can enjoy walks in nature, visit a pond, meet animals and birds that inhabit the surrounding area.

Agree, it would be interesting to spend the night in such an unusual house. By the way, it also has a control panel.
