Modern style is a symbiosis of comfort, aesthetics and practicality. The total transformation of this apartment was entrusted to the architectural studio Gosplan Architects.
Architects decided to completely change the layout. The distribution of the area that was originally created did not meet the requirements of modern life. The kitchen, dining room and living room combined into a single space, doubled the number of bathrooms and bedrooms.
The location of this apartment in the historical center of the Italian city of Genoa obliged architects to take a special approach to the organization of space. Since the windows opened a picturesque view, they tried to multiply the connection between the internal and external space of the room.
The interior was lit. Architects emphasized natural light by cutting through additional windows in the ceiling and between two rooms. The penetration of light was not even prevented by a staircase that connects the apartment to the roof garden. This is an elegant metal construction with delicate steps.
To make the apartment even more convenient, it was decided to make custom-made furniture. For example, in the living room, it’s a gray-colored case design that combines the functions of a bookcase, TV stand, dining bench, sofa and storage cabinet.
The decor was complemented by two vintage armchairs, restored doors in the spirit of the 50s, a black and white carpet with graphic stripes.
The living room without any partitions gradually passes into the dining room. Here come into play a large metal table and light metal armchairs with mesh seats. Kitchen area - white facades of laconic furniture with gray accents and an apron.
In the decoration, the architects used light, airy shades. As an accent - light gray wood used in the decoration of the floor, painted white walls, grayish furniture and textiles.
