According to the statement of the Minister of Health of the country Fahrettin Koja, in the near future the sale and import of electronic cigarettes into Turkey will be prohibited.

The issue of the sale and import of electronic cigarettes will be submitted for consideration by the country's parliament in the near future.

“The sale and import of electronic cigarettes will be banned. We are working on relevant legislation,” the minister said.

The main reason behind the ban was viper disease, triggered by vitamin E oil. Specialists from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration found this substance in mixtures with marijuana smoked by sick vapers. But officials from the ministry of health have yet to make final statements.

It is noted that Canadian doctors previously also recorded cases of diseases associated with the smoking of electronic cigarettes. Among others was a school-age patient who was diagnosed with a serious respiratory disease. Doctors even had to connect it to the life support system.

At the moment, the issue of importing devices for personal consumption by foreign citizens remains unclear.
