A huge wriggling bubble was discovered in the waters of Orstafjorden in Norway. As it turned out, this is a laying of squid eggs.

A transparent bubble with a process that looks like a huge balloon was found by Captain Niels Baadnes and diver Ronald Raash on the REV Ocean research vessel. A mysterious object sailed in the coastal waters of the fjord.

According to the authors of the find, this is a giant clutch of squid eggs. It is still unknown how these marine animals manage to lay such huge masses of eggs.

It is noted that such giant bubbles of mucus and organics can reach several meters across. Inside this "incubator" tens of thousands of individuals can ripen. It is noteworthy that the female first lays a small bubble with eggs, which increases after contact with water.

Different types of squids lay different sizes of masonry. For example, laying a diamond squid is like a long mucous tube that is entwined with chains of eggs.

And the laying of the Humboldt squid is more like a transparent drop, like the laying of the Gould squid, Japanese flying squid and neon flying squid.

At the moment, scientists still can not say for sure what the squid laid eggs on the Norwegian coast.
