Extreme home: on the coast of Chile, architects designed a villa on the sand dunes
The place that architects have chosen for this house cannot be called the best site for construction. It is exposed to wind and sun. Sloping sand also plays a role.
Casa Algamar is a house located on the coast of Norte Chico in Chile. Outwardly, it resembles a huge rectangular structure with a support. Its shell seems to protect the living quarters of the internal space, controlling the heat and lighting inside.
This building is conditionally divided into 4 parts, interconnected by bridges and stairs. The project was conceived and implemented in such a way that the dune naturally develops and encompasses the entire house. This volume of sand seems to protect the structure.
The functional part of the house is built around poles and stairs connecting all rooms through the patio. Inside there are 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a covered terrace with sea views.
