Design and Architecture Studio created a black-and-white housing for a young couple from Lviv
The author of the project is O.M. Shumelda completed work on the attic apartment in Lviv. Black and white housing with a mezzanine was to the taste of their owners, a young couple.
The owners of this Lviv apartment were looking for comfort with an elegant design on a maximum two-level area. Mezzanine solved the issue with the placement of rooms.
With the help of glass partitions and white, the architects arranged a holistic image of the apartment. The ground floor is represented by a single space, except for the bathroom.
The first level is the active zone, where the hall, living room, kitchen, bathroom are located. The latter is located behind the glass partition.
The small living room, due to the double height and white ceiling, seems spacious. The window, which is located near the sofa, is built into the windowsill. This creates additional seating.
Near the dining room is the kitchen. Against the background of white walls and kitchen cabinets, a black wall is contrasted with a pattern drawn in chalk. Black accents with white steps are also highlighted here.
The second level is a recreation area and a library.
It was important for studio clients to preserve the historical value of the apartment. Therefore, the restoration of windows and walls made of old Austrian brick was minimal. It came down to conservation.
