Northrop Grumman has completed the large-scale modernization of the B-2 Spirit bomber and will soon begin test flights.

B-2 bombers were developed in the 1980s using stealth technology to overcome enemy air defense systems.

These aircraft are capable of speeds up to several thousand km / h and overcome thousands of distances. B-2 houses 2 weapons bays, which can carry bombs of various types with a total mass of 18 tons.

But in the 2019 yard, bomber technology is outdated. He is not able to act in the so-called closed areas. It is about the space that the enemy controls.

Large-scale modernization should contribute to its security. The device received electronic warfare systems, new antennas. He was also equipped with advanced computing systems that are capable of processing information from all on-board devices of the aircraft.

New information screens have appeared in the cockpit. This will allow the bomber to find the enemy radar stations and put electronic interference.

If the flight tests are successful, then Northrop Grumman Corporation plans to modernize all B-2 aircraft that are in service with the US Air Force.
