The owners of this apartment are Brooklyn designer Athena Calderone, her husband and son. When they bought it, it was far from perfect - a cold and faded apartment that did not resemble housing.

After the purchase, this place resembled a bad hotel, with an abundance of metal parts, uncomfortable lighting and cold paint. But nothing is impossible. Especially for creative people.

To revitalize the interior, the designer and her husband needed rich colors, expressive textures, vintage furniture, as well as decor elements with history and character. The metal was replaced with wood, the white walls were painted in shades of blue, gray and turquoise.

Now it is a two-story penthouse, which boasts a double-decker space. On the ground floor there is a kitchen, technical rooms, a bathroom, a guest bedroom, an office and a balcony. On the second - the master bedroom with bathroom, dressing room, bathroom, recording studio and a balcony.

A remarkable element of the decor is skateboards. They are placed on both sides of the window, which is in the room of the landlady’s son. Snowboards are painted in rich and vibrant colors - a way to dilute the discreet palette of a sophisticated penthouse.
