Specialists from the International Center for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) showed what the Milky Way would look like if the human eye could perceive low-frequency waves.
According to scientists, in the Universe there are many objects that the human eye perceives as light in the visible part of the spectrum. But at the same time, part of the electromagnetic radiation has a large wavelength and low frequency. It is not perceived by the human eye. It turns out that a person sees the night sky as a picture devoid of some colors, the ICRAR website reports.
To fix this, the astronomers of the center using the MWA telescope created an image of the Milky Way in the range of 72 - 231 MHz. The degree of this “picture” corresponds to the degree of view of the human eye.
Red colors indicate areas with low frequency radio waves, green - medium frequency, blue - high frequency.
