The CST-100 Starliner spacecraft, designed to deliver people to orbit, was transported to the Florida spaceport.

The capsule will be installed on the Atlas V rocket, which will deliver it into space. The launch is scheduled for December 17, 2019. There will be no people on board, as this will be a test flight. Check the docking procedure with the ISS.

Starliner was developed by Boeing for NASA as part of the Commercial Crew program. Its purpose is to abandon third-party spacecraft. After all, after the closure of the Space Shuttle program in 2011, NASA astronauts have to fly on Russian Soyuz spacecraft to get to the International Space Station. It costs NASA $ 85 million for one place.

SpaceX is also preparing a capsule for delivering people into space, whose spaceship is called Crew Dragon. At the same time, Boeing seems to be lagging behind SpaceX, since the company Ilona Mask has already launched its capsule into space and tested its docking with the ISS, after which the ship successfully returned to Earth.
