IPhone will have a wheel like in iPod Classic
The student developed an application for the iPhone that will simulate the wheel of the legendary iPod Classic.
According to The Verge, student Elvin Hu of Cooper Union College is working on an iPhone app that will mimic the famous iPod Classic player wheel. As indicated, the wheel has tactile feedback and sounds when pressed in the same way as the wheel of the original player.
As noted, the application will be released or not, depends on Apple.
“I’ve been working on the project since October and whether I can release it or not depends on whether Apple approves it,” says Hu.
The company may not allow the release of the program, for example, because of patents.
According to Hu, if Apple prohibits the release of the application, he may release it as an open source project. At the moment, the project is still under development; Hu plans to finish it by the end of December.
