JBL introduced the REFLECT Eternal wireless headphones with a solar panel for recharging. A working prototype of the headphones has not yet been demonstrated, but they have already collected the required number of applications at the Indiegogo crowdfunding venue. JBL plans to start deliveries in October next year.

Under certain conditions, the new JBL wireless headphones can be left uncharged at all: the solar panel is located on the outside of the bow in the device. The battery capacity of the headphones themselves is 700 milliampere-hours: this should be enough for about a day of use.

JBL claims that together with the solar panel, an hour spent on the street provides up to 42 hours of operation with an average use of 3.5 hours per day, and when on the street for 2.5 hours or more, the solar panel will fully provide the device with the necessary energy. At the same time, JBL calculates these values based on an illumination of 50 thousand lux - it can be achieved in direct sunlight, but not in the shade.

If charging from light is not enough, the headphones can be connected to the network via USB-C and fully charged in two hours. Headphones connect to a smartphone, laptop or other device via Bluetooth 5.0 and, in addition to playing sound, support the voice assistants Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
