In California Waymo will test cars without drivers

Waymo the company received permission to conduct on-site California test of its unmanned vehicles. The trips will be carried out on public roads. Now testing machines will be carried out without the participation of the insured driver sitting behind the wheel.

The first tests will start near Waymo headquarters. Later, the territory will expand to several towns, whose residents will be warned in advance about the beginning of the tests. Trips will be allowed during the day and night through the city and rural streets, as well as highways.

Waymo exists since 2016, the company was formed on the basis of the project Google self-driving car. For all time of existence of the enterprise the General run of test cars in the unmanned mode exceeded 16 million km. Experiment already captured more than 20 cities of the USA.
