Roll-Royce has launched the first-ever high-speed electric aircraft called ACCEL. The presentation of the new aircraft took place at Gloucestershire Airport in England.

ACCEL electric aircraft is capable, according to developers, to reach speeds of up to 480 km / h and overcome distances of up to 320 km on a single charge, writes New Atlas.

It is noted that the production technology of all-electric aircraft is developing in two directions - the creation of low-efficiency aircraft with electric motors and the creation of powerful aircraft, which in the near future can already be tested in practice.

Roll-Royce decided to take the second path. Her plane is equipped with three 750R high-density axial electric motors. They work with the help of a battery pack consisting of 6 thousand cells that create a power of 750 kW.

These electric motors reduce carbon dioxide emissions to near zero. And also reduce the noise level to the minimum values.

The power plant, built into the aircraft, produces 90% efficiency compared to 50% for Formula 1 cars.

Recall that the Canadian startup Flash Forest initiated a new project, reinforced by drones. With the help of drones, it is planned to plant more than 1 billion trees by 2028.
