Artificial intelligence has been trained by Chinese scientists to recognize photographs taken underwater. He was taught to restore the colors and tones of images while preserving the source material.
Specialists from Harbin University of Engineering in China used a generative-competitive network. It is an artificial intelligence model that is based on a combination of several neural networks, VentureBeat reports.
It is reported that one of the networks generates images akin to a puzzle, the other - fixes attention on the details selected from several hundred pictures.
Pictures taken underwater often look blurry and distorted. This is due to poor lighting and backscatter. To fix this, Chinese scientists have developed a machine learning algorithm that works to restore natural light and reduce distortion.
According to Chinese researchers, they were able to restore 3,733 images that were shot at different depths. Mostly they depict plants and animals that live in hidden parts of the ocean.
It was previously reported that
gadgets that are left connected to the charger the device all night, all the same, the battery life is faster.
