The National Aeronautics and Space Administration conducted a test test of the Mars 2020 rover. The device is scheduled to be launched between July 17 and August 5, 2020.

The rover successfully passed the first test tests. The device can move back and forth, rotate in a circle. This was reported on the website of the department.

Testing was conducted by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in the room where the rover was assembled. The verification procedure lasted more than ten hours.

“The tests were successful — that means the Mars 2020 got a driver’s license,” said Rich Rieber, lead rover mobility systems engineer. “The test clearly proved that it can work with its own weight, and for the first time demonstrated many of the functions of autonomous navigation.”

Mars 2020 is the mission that they plan to launch in June 2020. It is assumed that the module with two rovers will land on the surface of the planet in February 2021. Rovers should descend in the area of the Sirte Plateau and the Jesero Crater.

Recently, the OXO wrote about the Japanese satellite Tsubame, who set a record for the lowest flight orbit. For this, he was included in the Guinness Book of Records.
