The Digit robot, which was created by Agility Robotics engineers, is already on sale. The first two copies were purchased by the American automaker Ford. They plan to use them in research projects for the delivery of goods.

Digit was created on the basis of the Cassie robot, which consists of two legs connected together. But the novelty has the classic design of a humanoid robot with two legs, two arms and a torso. In place of her head, she has a lidar that allows you to "see" obstacles, according to the company's website.

Throughout the past year, the humanoid robot Digit has been further developed at Agility Robotics. Designers worked on the creation of new prototypes, tested their skills. They recently demonstrated that a pair of such robots can carry loads of up to 18 kg.

The developers placed one of the earliest prototypes of humanoid robots in the trunk of an unmanned vehicle. They taught these two cars to work in pairs: the robot receives data from the car lidar and paves the way to the customer’s house.

Agility Robotics does not report the cost of Digit. According to the media, it is a six-figure dollar amount.

Recently, the German automobile brand Volkswagen reported about the end of the era for its legendary bug — Volkswagen Beetle. To emphasize the significance of this event, a very emotional video was shot.
