The galaxy, located 12 billion light-years from Earth, was discovered by astronomers from the Niels Bohr Institute and the Japan National Astronomical Observatory. They qualified her as the farthest known dying galaxy.

The discovered star system consists of more than a trillion stars (and is more massive than the Milky Way). Probably, its “core” was formed already 1.5 billion years after the Big Bang, that is, about 1 billion years earlier than anticipated. About this writes "Popular Mechanics" with reference to the press release scientists.

The new discovery will complement existing knowledge regarding the formation of the universe. Also, it is likely to lead to a revision of computer models that are currently used in astronomy.

Dead or dying galaxies are those galaxies that no longer produce stars. If in them the process of star formation “fades”, then they are called being in the process of dying.

Recently, doctors discovered unknown virus, which has already hit more than 200 people. It continues to spread throughout China.
