A bit of cunning, an abyss of humor and a spectacular mixture of bright colors and shapes. This was pop art in the 1950s and 1960s of the last century. Today it is back in fashion, but already as an elitist way of life for trendsetters.

Pop art rebelled against conservative norms in art and became a popular mass hobby in the 1950s-60s, winning major positions not only in advertising, but also in fashion, interior design and cinema. In those years, rebellious style was a serious problem for architectural traditions.

In the 1960s, thanks to Andy Urholol, the pioneer of pop art, emotional art and design became a reaction to the mass culture of consumer society. It was a vivid and defiant protest aimed at the cult of consumerism.

That is why in the interiors of that period one could see a tin can instead of an expensive antique vase or a bicycle wheel with hanging chains instead of a crystal chandelier.

Today, Pop Art has become a lifestyle. In the interiors of the stars of design, show business and the catwalk, pop art is instantly recognizable and artistic, bright and incredibly contrasting.

Having stepped out of the depths of popular culture, this shocking style still flaunts disrespect for architectural traditions, ironicizing serious art and canonizing futuristic images.
