The German government will allocate 1 billion euros to create new batteries for electric cars. Most of the investments are aimed at the development of new technologies. The research results should reduce the dependence of German companies on manufacturers of batteries in Asia. In addition, the support of own production will increase the number of new jobs.

Volkswagen, Daimler and some other well-known companies are actively looking for local companies with which you can conclude an agreement on the creation of plants in Germany. Among the candidates considered are ARTA Microbattery, Ford-Werke GmhB and BASF. However, some experts are skeptical about this venture, because they believe that the plan of Germany is too late-the whole of Europe is far behind Asia, where the production of batteries engaged in LG Chem, Samsung SDI and Contemporary Amperex Technology.
