The project, entitled “Know Where You Stand,” was initiated by The History Channel, an international television station. American photographer Seth Taras has superimposed modern shots on photographs that were taken in the past.

The perfect blending of angles allowed us to create photographs where modernity is mixed with the ghosts of the past. The advertising campaign was aimed at making people interested in those places where they live or often visit, reported on the channel’s website.

Among the photographs below are the works of Sergey Larenkov, who also works in the genre of historical photographic reconstruction or timerography.

One of the photographs depicts a young man walking exactly in the place where the catastrophe of the airship LZ 129 Hindenburg crashed (May 6, 1937). The aircraft made a transatlantic flight from Germany to the United States and exploded during the approach.

The project got a photo where mom and daughter are looking for pebbles near the water. Here, on the beach of the French commune of Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer, on June 6, 1944, the conduct of the naval landing operation "Neptune" began.

You can also see a couple in love who poses against the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower. Adolf Hitler stands beside them like a ghost.

Another photo project was written earlier. “iCreateLife” came up with Kristina Kashtanova, who lives in London. She shoots in unusual places athletes and dancers who demonstrate their skills in public.
