Microsoft has revealed the characteristics of the next-generation gaming console Xbox Series X.

The official premiere of the new console has not yet taken place, which did not prevent Microsoft from revealing detailed technical information about Series X.

The console will receive an AMD Zen 2 processor, modified specifically for the console, which will increase computing power compared to the Xbox One X immediately 4 times. The architecture of RDNA 2 made it possible to provide graphics power of 12 teraflops, which is 2 times more than the Xbox One X and more than 8 times more than the original Xbox One.

The graphics will be improved with DirectX Raytracing and Variable Rate Shading, which distributes processor resources in favor of the individual effects of certain game characters or more important environmental objects.

The Xbox Series X will be equipped with a new generation SSD that reduces game loading time, and the Quick Resume option allows you to quickly switch between several games running simultaneously — each can be resumed from the moment the user paused.

It is stated that Dynamic Latency Input technology will reduce the controller delay time, and in addition, the new console will be able to work with the HDMI 2.1 standard, and Series X itself will support 120 frames per second. For the novelty, backward compatibility of games with Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox One is announced, and already purchased games can be used on Xbox One and Xbox Series X — the console will determine the type of device and download the appropriate game.
