In Canada, they created an artificial pancreas. The new technology will provide vital support for people living with type 1 diabetes, a study by scientists at McGill University said.

Now, insulin pumps are used to help people living with type 1 diabetes - with their help, scientists manually select the dose of the insulin they need, which is pumped into the blood. In addition, it is quite difficult for patients to constantly maintain the glucose level necessary for normal life.

Now scientists have grown an artificial pancreas in the laboratory with the ability to eliminate high and low glucose levels. The body works on the basis of the complex action of pramlintide and insulin - according to scientists, the combination is more effective than using insulin alone.

“The combination of drugs has significantly improved the amount of time that a person’s blood glucose remains within the target range. Slowing down the absorption of food, pramlintide gives insulin more time to work. By improving glucose control, we can significantly improve the quality of life for patients,” said Ahmad Haidar, lead author of the study.
