In the hands of the artist Bouke de Vries, fragments of ceramics turn into real works of art. From old plates, the master creates amazing art objects with his own hands, such as a map of China or an elegant rose with a high leg.

Unusual handmade recycling of old things can be seen in art galleries around the world - the master regularly holds exhibitions of his works.

Using his restoration skills, Bouke de Vries repairs broken pots after their accidental “injury”. He called it the "beauty of destruction." Instead of remodeling them, he deconstructs them. Instead of hiding the evidence of this very dramatic episode in the life of a ceramic object, he emphasizes their new status, instilling new virtues, new values and moving their stories forward.

His work echoes the still lifes of the 17th and 18th centuries, especially with the floral paintings of the Golden Age, traditions in which the artist’s hometown was immersed.
