Contemporary art uses all possible means to express ideas. The artist Rowan Mersh decided to take materials for his work from the bottom of the sea and did not fail. Thousands of shells are combined into real sculptural masterpieces, making a lasting impression on the audience.
British multimedia artist Rowan Mersch is attracted by the beauty of nature. He uses thousands of seashells to create fascinating contemporary sculptures.
His experimental method is to turn ordinary objects into high art, paying particular attention to form, color and geometry.
In order to create a sculpture, which subsequently decorates the wall, you need to spend from two to six months. Mersh combes the coast in search of materials for creativity that the sea can give: from the needles of sea urchins to a variety of shells.
Inspired by the idea of the versatility of materials, Mersch is intrigued by the features of shells - they carry the messages of symbolism and tradition, which he embodies in his works.
