The drone of the Spanish company Quaternium Technologies broke the record for flight duration among hybrid multicopters.

A new prototype drone, developed by the Spanish company Quaternium Technologies, broke the record for flight duration among hybrid multicopters. The device remained in the air for 8 hours 10 minutes - this is almost an hour better than the last record result, which was set by the Chinese company Richenpower in 2018.

The prototype that set the record is based on the HYBRiX 2.1 serial drone (the serial model is able to stay in the air without refueling for about four hours). Multicopter runs on a mixture of gasoline with an octane rating of 95 and oil. The maximum take-off mass of the device is 25 kilograms, the maximum mass of the payload is 10 kg; in the production model, at full payload, the maximum flight duration is only two hours, this information is not available for the new prototype.
