The World Health Organization has announced the coronavirus pandemic. The media, along with the agency, showed the history of pandemics using infographics.

WHO is very concerned about the outbreak of the disease that has hit the whole world. The agency daily evaluates its activity: COVID-19 is characterized as a pandemic, transmits Ukrinform a statement by the head of WHO, Tedros Gebreesus.

Gebreesus called coronavirus the first pandemic that can be controlled. Modern people are not subject to the virus. Most of those who are infected are already recovering.

A pandemic is the spread of a new disease worldwide. A pandemic occurs when a new virus appears and spreads around the world, and most people are not immune.

Recently, scientists from the United States developed a new coronavirus test, which runs 10 times faster than existing ones. The new system can test up to 4128 patients per day, and the previous one — up to 1440 patients.
