From pyramids to museums: large-scale disinfection has begun in Egypt (Photo)

On March 25, the Ministry of Tourism of Egypt, as part of counteracting the spread of the new coronavirus, began the disinfection of museums and archaeological sites in the country.

"The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has announced the initiation of sterilization and disinfection of museums and archaeological sites in North Sinai, the Nile Delta and Lower Egypt, and has completed work in other areas in Upper Egypt and Greater Cairo as part of a government policy to protect and prevent the effects of coronavirus (СOVID-19)," the report said.

So, the disinfection was carried out in accordance with international standards, and the liquids used were approved in advance by the Ministry of Health of the country.

It is reported that the entire archaeological area in the area of ​​the pyramids in Giza was disinfected, as well as the nearest access roads, ticket offices, toilets and places for tourists to rest.
