The Chinese missile Kuaizhou-1A (Kuaizhou-1A) was put up for auction live and "flew" to an unknown buyer for a tidy sum.

The auction was watched by 2 million people. Recording video by April 3 gained 500 million views. In the first 5 minutes, the number of people wishing to buy a Chinese Kuizhou-1A rocket reached 800 people, and the total deposit amounted to 500 thousand yuan (about $ 4,600). As a result, the rocket was sold to an unknown rich man for 40 million yuan (approximately $ 5.6 million).

The package of services purchased by the buyer will allow him to be present on the launch pad during the launch of the rocket and to personally observe how millions of dollars are “burned” in the fire mass. Previously, the owner will be able to paint the case of the device at his discretion.

The Kuizhou-1A rocket (KZ-1A) - literally a “fast boat” - was developed at ExPace, a commercial subsidiary of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC).

KZ-1A are mainly used for fast and inexpensive delivery of small satellites to near-Earth orbit. The KZ-1A rocket has three solid fuel stages and an upper stage with liquid fuel. The device can display from 4 to 6 satellites in different orbits during one launch. The rocket allows delivering up to 250 kilograms of cargo into low Earth orbit.

The Kuizhou-1A rocket is part of China's growing commercial space sector. For 3 years, the rocket launched 8 times and delivered only commercial payloads into orbit. Most space missions are carried out by state corporations, but gradually private companies such as ExPace enter the market.
