In all countries of the world that are struggling with a pandemic, people are asked to maintain social distance. Until a cure for COVID-19 has yet been found, such measures will have to be followed until the emergency ends.

In one of the regions of Italy, they presented a plan to give tourists the opportunity to relax on the coast, without fear of contracting a coronavirus. Designers have proposed creating plexiglass boxes and installing them on public beaches.

The idea was proposed by the Italian company Nuova Neon Group Due, which operates in the city of Modena. First, the developers created protective plexiglass screens for pharmacies and banks across the country, and now they plan to make boxes for the beach out of it.

The height of the walls of the box is 2 meters and the width is 4.5 meters. People can comfortably stay inside while relaxing on the seashore. Local media called this design a "chicken coop."

Local rescuers and club owners criticized the proposal, calling it impenetrable. Mauro Vanni, head of the rescue cooperative, said that while in these pits during the heat, people could die from dehydration.
