An open plumbing and ceiling in burnt pink — an incredible loft in the historical part of São Paulo

Open pastel tubes, a pink burnt ceiling, and a strange loft layout are some of the details that architects added while renovating an apartment in downtown São Paulo.

The local SuperLimão studio has remade the apartment for a couple who are passionate about art, architecture and photography. The owners wanted to change the layout of the apartment in the modernist house of Saint Honoré, built in 1958 by the Brazilian architect Artacho Jurado.

RF Apartments were designed for parties, so the loft layout was the best option. The architects' answer was simple: they destroyed the walls of the corridor to create a large open-plan living and dining room, which would be great for entertainment and many guests.

Despite the redevelopment, architects wanted to preserve many of the existing historical elements of the interior, trying to pay tribute to the former architecture and the author of the interior of the 60s - his colleague.
