American architect designed a house in which you can live all year (Photo)

Uilla Mejera's beachfront home in the suburbs of New York City combines natural materials with modern accessories.

Architect Hugh Newell Jacobsen designed the house in 1971. Modern architect Uilla Mejera has replaced the existing siding on the facades with cedar shingles suitable for a Hampton roof. He also framed the wall of the back window of the living room - now equipped with a sliding stack - in white to emphasize its modification.

The house has a very beautiful bar lounge Milo Baughman; above the fireplace - a couple of works by Argentine artist Enrique Batista. Pendant lamp - John Wigmore. Upholstery - Holly Hunt. Japanese paper John Wigmore ceiling light illuminates the dining room with a custom table with marble top and custom-made bench.

The kitchen overlooks the pool, built into a concrete base, sheathed in wood. There is also a barbecue area and outdoor recreation. Built-in barbecue facilities and sun loungers join the pool. A lamp by Isamu Noguchi made up a mid-century common scene: Kaare Klint chairs join Christian Wu's ash-inspired cocktail tables in the 1950s.

Uilla Mejera added bay windows in the living room to better enjoy the surrounding nature and relaxation area; the fiber cement table deserves attention, as is the window seat. The antique Nanna Ditzel hanging chair draws attention to the guest bedroom on the ground floor. Everywhere, the windows were left untreated or curtains in crisp floor-to-ceiling linen.

The master bedroom with an antique Knoll Hide bench opens onto a 1250 sqm rear deck. m, which is original for the house and overlooks the harbor of Akabonaka. The former painting workshop was transformed into a master bathroom, covered with porcelain stoneware.
