Discarded agricultural tools, forks, spoons, other kitchen utensils, other metal products that are obsolete mentally or physically - these are what the talented US sculptor John Lopez makes his masterpieces from. In the beginning, a master from South Dakota specialized in creating bronze sculptures, but quickly realized that this was not the only material for creativity. Today, creative sculptures forged from the “fragments of civilization” can be found in museums and private collections across the country.
John Lopez has animals in priority. He willingly copies animals and birds of certain breeds, not forgetting to concentrate on the details. His sculptures have an unusual texture and are literally assembled on cogs, like a designer. No less striking is the fact that representatives of the animal world are made in natural growth.
The sculptor forges, polishes, polishes until he reaches perfection. Not only solitary figures come out from under his hands, but also complex sculptural compositions, dynamic, textured, detailed, as if ready to come to life.
