A dog named Elk, an 8-year-old Labrador from the United States, received the title of Doctor of Science at Virginia Polytechnic. He "worked" in a university counseling center and provided emotional assistance to students with mental disorders.

Together with the other three dogs, the Elk began a “collaboration” with the center in 2014. For six years, he “held” 7,500 consultations and took part in more than 500 events dedicated to mental health, according to the university’s website.

A year ago, the Dog received the title Animal Hero from the Virginia Veterans Association for helping students with anxiety, depression, and other mental disorders.

According to Trent Davis, the owner of the Elk, the dog helps students feel more comfortable during consultations with specialists. It acts as a relaxing factor. And in his free time from “work”, the Moose likes to eat and swim.

Recently it was reported that in India, a small monkey attacked an ATM. The animal managed to open it, study the insides of the device and safely hide.
