British company McLaren officially unveiled its GT supercar. The new 620-horsepower coupe is characterized by the use of unusual materials in the decoration.

The interior of the car, which is positioned by the manufacturer as a coupe for long trips, is trimmed with leather. And for demanding motorists, it can be replaced with even more delicate material — alcantara or cashmere. These materials are almost never found as car finishes, informs "Popular mechanics".

Among other features of the new McLaren GT is SuperFabric material, which is used for upholstery of the trunk and interior floor mats. Initially, it was used in the aerospace industry and in military equipment.

But the British automaker's engineers used it as an upholstery. This material is resistant to cuts and abrasion. And thanks to the inner layer of tiny plates, it provides a high level of protection against mechanical damage.

It is noted that the McLaren GT is equipped with a 4-liter V8 gasoline turbo engine in combination with a 7-speed robotic gearbox. The basic equipment of the sports car also includes an adaptive suspension that can adapt to the road surface.

Previously, the German company BMW held an unusual competition in which the armored car BMW X5 Protection VR6 and a Kalashnikov assault rifle. Specialists wanted to find out who is the fastest crossover or bullet.
