In the Nikolaev Zoo, which was recently opened after quarantine, a local resident - a female hippo Ricky entertains visitors by swimming and sleeping in an unusual way for these animals - on her back.
“And again, our visitors are in a panic, reporting that we have a hippopotamus swimming upside down in the pool. Calm, don’t worry! Ricky really swims like that and even sleeps! Upside down, ”the message said.
It is worth noting that Ricky appeared in the Nikolaev Zoo in 2009 - she was brought from the Israeli Zoo to create a pair with the local hippo Casimir.
As already reported, during quarantine in the Nikolaev Zoo a new inhabitant appeared - the four-horned lamb of the breed St. Jacob or Jacob. They are bred as an ornamental breed, which is distinguished by its unusual number of horns - two grow like a sheep, and two grow like a goat.
