Tests for COVID-19 in Scotland will be delivered to their destination using drones. System testing will be conducted jointly by the Scottish National Health Service and Skyports.
Delivery of tests on COVID-19 will be done by Wingcopter drones. They transport test systems and protective equipment between the Lorn & Islands Hospital in Oban on the island of the United Kingdom and the Mull & Iona Community Hospital on the island of Mull,
writes The guardian.
The reason for the use of drones for the delivery of test systems and protective equipment was the country's topography features, more precisely, their diversity — from plains to mountains and islands. And this at times complicates the transportation of urgent goods. Especially medical supplies.
If the test is successful, the initiative will be implemented in several Scottish hospitals.
Earlier it was reported that UPS will deliver
drones with drugs to remote areas of the country. Prescription drugs will be shipped throughout Florida.
