The Roman emperors, whose faces were reconstructed by the Italian sculptor Salve Ruano, look like alive. He managed to “revive” the masterpieces of sculptors of ancient Rome using modern methods.

With the help of hyper-realistic reconstruction, the sculptor recreated the images of the Roman emperors — Caligula, Julius Caesar, Nero, Octavian Augustus. He used materials and technologies that are used in Hollywood films. And the museum sculptures of these politicians acted as models, reported on the website of the Césares de Roma project.

Before recreating each image, Salve Rouano studied many scientific materials, including the results of archaeological excavations. He did not bypass the literary component, in which the images of emperors were preserved.

The sculptor used special silicone, which imitates human skin with great accuracy. With his help, he gave expressions to faces, pores of the skin, wrinkles, moles. Then he worked with artificial eyes and hair. For the latter, he used goat hair and human hair.

About the features use of makeup OXO wrote earlier. Interesting users have collected scenes from blockbusters of recent years, from The Matrix to Pirates of the Caribbean, which show scenes without special effects and with them.
