Designers Maya Brudieux and Cfmilla Morcrette from the French studio (ma! Ca) architecture rebuilt an old barn on the outskirts of Montpellier in southern France. For these professionals, architecture played a key role, since it significantly affects the physical and emotional state.

The architects of the studio were given the task of rebuilding an old barn adjacent to the house in the historical center of Castries, a village in southern France, 15 km from Montpellier among vineyards and pine forests. It was necessary to create an intimate and unique habitat, writes "Archidea."

Maya Brudieux and Cfmilla Morcrette were supposed to preserve the elements of the old building: a stone staircase, concrete tiles and a wooden roof frame. They converted the barn into an open living space, opened from the rear to the outside with a square courtyard.

Material contrasts were used in the new house to accelerate intervention in the local landscape. At the same time, modern aesthetics promotes dialogue between the room and the environment.

Recently, the architectural bureau BFDO Architects created the real cat house. His experts came up with a bookcase with many shelves, stretched across the wall. The custom design was designed so that cats can easily climb to the very top.
