Charles Sacilotto (Charles Sacilotto) and Marie Granmar from Stockholm originally approached the solution to the problem of preserving energy in their own home: they enclosed their monastery in a huge greenhouse.

This unconventional approach to heating has proven quite effective. Now, solar energy not only provides heat inside the home, but also creates a mild climate outside.

The greenhouse, which is twice as large as the house, is made of metal structures and durable glass with a thickness of 4 millimeters.

In order to maximize the use of the additional space inside the greenhouse, the couple turned the roof of the house into a terrace where you can sunbathe, read and play with the children.

In addition, they grow fruits, vegetables and grapes, and also set up a small reservoir for goldfish.

To create such a building, the couple was inspired by acquaintance with the architect Bengt Warne, who built a similar house Naturhus back in 1974.

Despite all the advantages of a house inside a greenhouse, the dwelling is not completely autonomous in terms of heating. “This is not a house where you will have an ideal climate year-round,” Granmar admits.
