The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) introduced pendants that are designed to reduce the frequency of human contact with the face. The gadget is planned to be used for the prevention of COVID-19.

The new device is called PULSE. It will be worn on the chest and include an infrared sensor that detects the approach of the hands to the face in a given range, specialists inform the department.

Each time, when the hands fall within the sensor’s visual range, it triggers and the miniature motor built into it starts to vibrate. This will show people how often they touch their faces throughout the day. And also develop a good habit.

The pendant was developed by three specialists from the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, who, in agreement with the management, made their development free of copyrights and patents — a complete list of parts necessary for assembling PULSE, modeling files for printing elements on a 3D printer, and open-source instructions were posted to share.

Recently, scientists from the United States introduced a new augmented reality system (VR), which can transmit temperature with odors. She uses the capabilities of the human body.
