Astronomers using the Hubble telescope, received a picture of the galaxy NGC 7513, which is located 65 million light-years from Earth in the constellation Sculptor. This galaxy is interesting in that it “runs away” from us at a very high speed, the observatory website says.

It is reported that the galaxy is moving at a speed of 1564 kilometers per second. For comparison, the Earth revolves around the Sun at a speed of about 30 kilometers per second.

Although some galaxies, such as the Milky Way and the Andromeda galaxy, are gravitationally connected to each other and should merge in the future, most galaxies in the Universe move away from each other. This phenomenon can be explained by the expansion of the Universe: the space between galaxies is stretched.

The Hubble Space Telescope is an automatic observatory in orbit around the Earth, named after Edwin Hubble. The Hubble Telescope is a joint project of NASA and the European Space Agency and is part of NASA's Big Observatories.
